About Hoops Junkie

Hoops Junkie is an independent project which aims to provide a live, data rich, but user-friendly view of the NBA. We are focused on presenting advanced stats and analytics in an approachable way so NBA fans of all ages and knowledge levels can learn about and enjoy the game.

Hoops Junkie is a passion project of Glenn McComb. I am a lifelong NBA fan and web developer based out of Melbourne, Australia and this project represents a marrying of my professional expertise with my love of NBA statistics and analytics. I am the creator of the Enhanced ESPN NBA Box Score browser extension which I have been actively maintaining since 2016.

Betting odds

I have made the conscious choice not to include betting content on the site. As a parent of young children I want Hoops Junkie to be family-friendly and not expose minors to gambling content. Beyond that, as someone who's been closely following the league since the 2007-08 season, I've seen sports betting evolve from a culturally taboo niche activity, to the point that it's impossible to get through a live broadcast, podcast or article without being reminded of it.

I am by no means anti-gambling and I have no problem with betting in general. However, opting not to show odds on Hoops Junkie represents my protest against the proliferation of seemingly unregulated gambling advertising in the NBA.
